Audie practices what she preaches. She is an active member of the Oakville Chamber of Commerce, demonstrating her strong ability to build relationships by consistently attending events, speaking at chamber conferences and supporting chamber activities through her newsletter. I am honoured to endorse her book on networking - she is an example of someone who walks the talk.

John Sawyer, Executive Director, Oakville Chamber of Commerce

Networking Stories

Breaking Through Comfort Zones

From my experience, I have learned that it is easier to meet new people when attending smaller functions rather than events drawing large numbers. In large gatherings, people tend to quickly form small circles for comfort and these are difficult to penetrate.

I’ve also found that people in particular careers are more difficult to connect with. Teachers, cops and newspaper types all tend to have war stories that they enjoy sharing with their peers.
